There are more than 60 private Okanagan RV parks and camping resorts to spend your summer camping vacation at. Personally we've always had good experiences at all of the RV parks and campgrounds we've stayed at. Because camping and RV'ing is a big part of the summer tourism economy in the Okanagan, it's reasonable to say that most park owners work hard at providing the best service and facilities for visitors. If you like to avoid crowds, the best time to go camping is actually in the spring and fall, when rates are lower, and there are less people in the campgrounds. Spring and fall are also excellent times for bird watching. And some facilities have amenities such as shower and laundry, private grounds, family and kids entertainment such as small arcades, volleyball, playgrounds, boccie ball, badminton, community fire pits, and more. In ground pools and hot tubs are sometimes a nice added plus.

There are very few parks if any at all that allow pets off the leash these days. In the Okanagan there are dog beaches, and other designated areas where you can safely let your pet run around and exercise.
Not all campgrounds RV parks have individual fire pits. If a campfire is vital to your vacation, be sure to check in advance if fire pits are available.

The downside of searching for a campground is that you have to call each one or check their websites for availability, which can be time consuming. But, that's why we've listed as many as we can for you, in addition to those that we've stayed at ourselves.
